What if you intuitively already knew how to navigate your internalized oppression?
Anti-Oppression Tarot Sessions
A 1 on 1 container for spiritual seekers to work on internalized oppression without checking their intuition at the door
You’re here to live your freest, most fulfilled life and you know that tarot can help you get there . The only problem is that issues related to oppression feel too big, even for the tarot.
As I said on the Living Open podcast, “the systems that oppress marginalized groups are the same systems that tell us to cut off our intuition and I don’t think that’s a coincidence at all.”
It’s no wonder why we struggle to let our intuition guide as we work through our internalized oppression!
Wait...what counts as “internalized oppression”?
Internalized oppression shows up as thoughts, beliefs, or behaviors that indicate the role of an oppressive system (fatphobia, white supremacy, heteronormativity, patriarchy, ect) in our day-to-day lives. In case that’s still too broad, here are some topics clients have worked through in these sessions:
Body image issues
Trouble accepting queerness
Fear of being visible
Navigating trans/non-binary gender identity
Intergenerational money struggles
Internalized racism
If you’re like most radical, magical folks I talk to, chances are you...
Dig into your shadow work but get intimidated and grind to a halt when that work points you to a systemic or structural issue
Tend to take a “push through” approach to social justice issues, and have trouble seeing where intuition fits in
Are a part of some social justice communities but feel lost or alone when it comes to working through your own personal relationship to oppression
And if you’re being really honest, you’ve BEEN diving into your internalized oppression but it never really goes anywhere.
“I used to approach social justice from a very push push push way because of what I’m studying and where my interests are. I’m now able to see it through a spiritual perspective and work through my own shadows while also doing activism work.”
-Harinandhini T.
I totally get it…
I spent years IMMERSED in the world of full-time social justice work yet never felt like I could dig into my own ish around queerness, gender, anti-blackness, body image, you name it. It was all off-limits.
This entire time, I was regularly using my spiritual practice to guide MOST of my life, but processing internalized oppression still seemed too heavy and out of my control.
....Fast Forward to today, and spirit work is the very best tool I’ve found for working through these issues in my own life and in the lives of my clients.
Why? because the collective shadow hosts ALL of the thoughts, beliefs, and ideologies that uphold oppressive systems. If we don’t use shadow work and intuitive tools to process our own oppression, we’ll consistently get stuck.
It’s not that you can’t ever work through your body image issues, gender dysphoria, internalized racism, or any other issue of internalized oppression. It’s just that you haven’t learned how to fold this work into your spiritual practice.
I’ve helped people go from never using their tarot decks in their activism to using their cards daily to guide their community work AND process their own grief at the same time
I’ve had advocacy group leaders reach out to me for tarot sessions helping them align to their mission
Clients come out of these sessions more aware of hidden blocks in their belief systems that keep them from fully embracing ALL of their intersectional identities
The way I do it, spirit work and anti-oppression work don’t just go hand-in-hand, they are the SAME.
With someone who respects your commitment to anti-oppression work AND your devotion to your spiritual practice, you can uncover a map that will guide you in working through your personal relationship to these harmful systems.
That’s exactly why I created Anti Oppression Tarot Sessions
Giving Voice to Unnamed Blind pots
“Honestly, a lot of it was unnamed before this experience. My own relationship with my queerness is quite new, but through this process, I came to realize that there were a lot of internal blocks for me, ways that I didn't feel like I *deserved* to be considered queer. But I hadn't realized that was part of the problem or my belief systems. I really struggled with (and am continuing to work through) being an ally without completely removing myself from the equation, that it is okay for me to take up space and exist in some way. This experience involved quite a bit of internal work, facing the ways that I've diminished myself in an effort to do what I can in dismantling white supremacy, advocating for queer people and bodies, etc. But nobody is asking me for that. This was a really important part of the work I realized and worked through with Samara.”

Breakthroughs During Aftercare
“I used this daily and it was amazing! I loved being able to get questions answered throughout my tarot journey and even get affirmations that I was on the right track in terms of a reading. It was also a great way for me to be able to share more of my journey and path, and get Samara’s experience and guidance through everything. I was never judged or looked down on or told that a question was too small. I genuinely looked forward to their emails every day and learned so much. I am also looking forward to referring back to some of the lessons over the next couple of weeks because there were so many breakthroughs during our time together.”

Wondering if you’re a good fit for an Anti-Oppression Tarot Session?
Anti-oppression tarot sessions were specifically created for spiritual activists who are looking to…
Deeply interrogate their personal relationship to systems of oppression
Integrate their spiritual practice and their justice work
Access a new level of radical self-awareness and self-acceptance
Commit to using their intuition as a guide in their activism
Here’s what previous clients wanted to know before booking:
Q: What if I don’t identify as an activist?
Clients come to me all the time with imposter syndrome around claiming the title “activist,” and that, my love, is part of what we’re here to work through! This work is about your PERSONAL relationship to systems of oppression. If you are a human on the planet, you’ve intersected with these systems a few times, regardless of your profession, occupation, or preferred hobbies. With that said, I’d invite you to think about why you don’t identify as an activist. A few years ago I read a quote from Amandla Stenberg that changed my life: “every day that you exist unapologetically is activism.” Because of the oppressive world we live in, we gaslight ourselves into thinking we’re not doing enough. If you’re a justice-oriented soul committed to leaving the world better than you found it, I hereby deem you “activist.”
Q: How is this not just a tarot reading? Will there be channeled guidance?
This session weaves together channeled guidance, human-to-human dialogue, and tangible shadow work strategies to leave you with BOTH a deeper sense of clarity AND actionable next steps to take on your healing journey. The digging deeper option also sets you up for more thorough integration by giving you ongoing support and materials to refer back to.
Q: How is this different from the Tarot for Healing Justice program, or a set of anti-oppression tarot/journal prompts?
Anti-Oppression Tarot Sessions are highly personalized to your specific needs. I don’t give out pre-set advice or recycle action steps; everything that comes up is designed for your interests, skills, and history with shadow work and anti-oppression work. If you’re familiar with specific healing modalities such as EFT, breathwork, or reiki, I may give you tips on how you can use those practices in your work related to our session. If you have a tarot deck and like to use it, I will likely give you questions to ask your deck. If journaling is your style, I will curate journal prompts specific to your experience. You can’t google your way to this stuff. .
Personalized Wake-Up Calls
“Following our session I did an EFT session for body and for the first time in about 14 years I looked in the mirror and just saw a body with no other meanings attached to it. I just saw a body. And just feeling that has helped me feel good about myself and show up in a way that I never imagined I could. I move through my days with so much more confidence and love for myself. The reading with Samara helped me find the courage to work on what I needed to work on. It was the wake up call that I needed to realise I’ve been sitting in discomfort for a long time and saying it’s okay.”

Hi, I’m Samara!
I’m an international intuitive healer focused on helping people who are breaking down the oppression within themselves and in our world. Without this work, I would be feeling lost and defenseless against the deepest forces of respectability politics, self-loathing, and financial martyrdom. I’m now working on my own terms, with agency to defend all of my boundaries, loving myself more each day, and making more money than I ever have at a job.
As part of a never-ending journey to heal my life and support those I love, I am constantly refining and sharing my approach. What you’ll get in this session is my absolute latest and best.
